We are soon entering the holidays, and this means Christmas Lights. Most families and houses have traditions for hanging up Christmas Lights in this time of the year, and that also means that people will be looking for new lights. Because this is only one time per year, it can sometimes be confusing to find out what types exists, and what type you should by. That is why we will try to look closer to a few types of Christmas lights in this article, so you can get a better overview of the products on the market.

C7 and C9 Socket Christmas Lights
These C7 and C9 types of Christmas Lights are definitely the most popular types. With the C7 you get 2-inch bulbs while the C9 type uses 3-inch bulbs. They usually come on long strings with up to 150 bulbs on them. Even if 1 bulb burns out, the rest of the string will keep working and glowing, so you don’t need to maintain your Christmas light rope all the time, and it is easier to locate the burned out bulb. The versions of these Christmas Lights with the LED type are very popular, as LED lights are very power efficient and long living. They will simply keep burning on for ages with a minimum use of electricity, so you won’t get a huge electricity bill. Because they are LEDs, they are also a lot safer than the old bulbs, they don’t overheat and they can be used both inside and outside your house.

Mini Lights or Fairy Lights
Now this is a type of Christmas Lights that are much smaller. They generally hold about 50-100 light bulbs, but you will be able to find some that hold up to 300. These are usually with LED lights as well. You can find these with strings that are solar powered or battery operated, which can save your electric bill and make it easier to install the lights.

The Rope Type Lights
This is a more special type of Christmas Lights, as these are made of LED lights, which is protected inside a long vinyl tube. The Rope Lights are very easy to put up, and can be very useful for decorating your house, and can be used for pretty much everything. There is one catch though, because they are protected in the vinyl tube, you cannot change them.

Net Lights
The last type of Christmas Lights we look at in this article is the Net Lights. This type is very easy to cover small trees, bushes, garage doors or walls with, and they give a very symmetric look to your Christmas light decoration. These are highly recommended if you have to cover big spaces, or put up a lot of light.
